Background
As Vox Agency enters a bold new chapter through the rollout of its 2025–2030 Strategic Plan, we are expanding our presence and influence across Africa’s fast-evolving communications and development landscape. To achieve our ambitious growth targets, increase market share, and reinforce our role as a change-making communications agency, we are recruiting a high-level Business Development & Marketing Lead.
This full-time position is central to our strategy. Reporting directly to the leadership team, the successful candidate will be responsible for designing and executing business development and marketing strategies that open new markets, secure high-value partnerships, and position Vox as a go-to agency for development-focused organizations. This includes driving client acquisition, ensuring client retention, increasing brand visibility, and contributing to revenue growth through diversified offerings.
The selected expert will also provide key input into strategic initiatives—ranging from market intelligence, proposal development, outreach, and positioning, to identifying business opportunities and supporting the evolution of our service portfolio. The role will require strong engagement with current and potential partners, both local and international, as well as strategic representation at key events.

Primary Functions and Responsibilities – Vox Agency
The Business Developer & Marketing Manager (BDMM) will work closely with the Communications for development team, the technical team and leadership team to:
• Develop and implement Vox Agency’s business development and marketing strategy aligned with our 2025–2030 strategic roadmap.
• Identify and capitalize on new market opportunities in Africa and internationally to scale services, generate revenue, and build sustainable business lines.
• Enhance client acquisition through targeted marketing initiatives, inbound/outbound campaigns, and high-level B2B engagement strategies.
• Lead efforts in building brand visibility, positioning, and digital presence, including overseeing events, campaigns, and communication assets.
• Conduct strategic market intelligence, including trend analysis, competitive benchmarking, and client need assessments to inform product/service design.
Manage and optimize the sales funnel and CRM pipelines, ensuring structured follow-ups and conversions of leads into long-term clients or partners.
• Collaborate with the creative and project teams to ensure alignment between commercial objectives and service delivery.
• Represent Vox Agency in national and international events, partnerships, and stakeholder engagements.
• Lead proposal writing processes, including the design of technical and financial offers to secure projects and funding opportunities.
Monitor KPIs to assess the impact of business and marketing efforts, and adapt strategies accordingly.
• Support fundraising and investor relations where applicable, especially in the context of strategic partnerships for our programs.
Profile – Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate is a result-driven, entrepreneurial professional with strong business acumen, marketing expertise, and a deep understanding of the communication for development landscape in Africa.
Required Skills and Competencies
• Strong knowledge in business development, marketing strategy, and digital growth.
• Mastery of inbound and outbound marketing tools (e.g., HubSpot, Mailchimp, Waalaxy, Sales Navigator).
• Ability to create compelling presentations, proposals, and marketing assets.
• Strong analytical skills for data-driven decision-making and opportunity mapping.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in French; working proficiency in English is a strong asset.
• Competence in CRM and pipeline management.
• Networking, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Agile, independent, and solution-oriented, with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in development, creative industries, or mission-driven organizations is a plus.
Education
Master’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Commercial Strategy, Communication, or any relevant field.
Experience
• Minimum 5 years of proven experience in business development or marketing, with a track record of achieving commercial targets.
• Demonstrated success in market expansion, client relationship management, and strategic growth.
• Experience in proposal development and acquisition of contracts with NGOs, agencies, or international organizations is an advantage.
• Previous experience in international development and cooperation is desirable.

• Availability to travel within Senegal and abroad.
• Discipline and autonomy to work in a hybrid model (remote/in-office).
• High level of professionalism, integrity, and motivation to work in a mission-driven environment.
Competency-Based Interview:
• Finalists will participate in an in-depth interview focused on skills, experience, and alignment with the values and vision of Vox Agency.
• Reference checks will be conducted.
Timing
This is a full-time contractual position under a two-year fixed-term contract (CDD).
The contract includes a two-month trial period, after which the candidate’s performance will be reviewed for confirmation. The assignment is scheduled to begin on June 1, 2025, upon signature of the contract. Based on performance and strategic needs, the contract may be renewed or lead to a long-term opportunity within Vox Agency.
