Position Title: Civil/Structural Design Engineer – Yoonu Leer Project

About the Role
• Eclipse Holdings is seeking a motivated and technically skilled Civil/Structural
• Design Engineer to support the design, development, and implementation of containerized energy and digital infrastructure systems for our flagship project, Yoonu Leer.
• Yoonu Leer aims to revolutionize energy system particulary rural electrification by combining solar power, battery storage, and Bitcoin mining to unlock energy access in underserved communities. You will play a critical role in designing the modular, field-deployable
infrastructure that enables this innovation to scale.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and review design drawings, site plans, construction documents, specifications, and technical reports for modular and site-adapted structures.
• Perform engineering calculations to support the design of container platforms, equipment supports, PV foundations, battery housing, and rural substructures.
• Design and analyze steel and reinforced concrete components under static, dynamic, and seismic loads.
• Support Front End Engineering Design studies and site-specific foundation designs in remote or constrained environments.
• Contribute to the development of modular, factory-built structural solutions for fast deployment in rural areas or harsh environment.
• Conduct or supervise site investigations, walkdowns, and construction oversight when necessary.
• Coordinate across disciplines (electrical, civil, mechanical) to ensure fully integrated design packages.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes (international and regional), standards, and internal QA/QC procedures.
• Prepare material take-offs, cost and schedule estimates, and support the procurement of structural elements.
• Create or review as-built documentation and provide engineering support during installation and commissioning phases.
• Contribute to technical documentation for grant applications, reports, and stakeholder presentations.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred)
• Solid foundational knowledge of structural analysis, mechanics of materials, and reinforced concrete/steel design
• Experience or coursework related to energy infrastructure, modular design, or rural construction
• Strong technical writing and documentation skills in English and French
• Familiarity with international design standards; knowledge of African codes is a plus
• Experience in conducting structural design calculations (hand and software-based)
• Ability to assess constructability, durability, and logistics in rural or off-grid contexts
• Comfortable working in multi-disciplinary teams, with flexibility for evolving project needs
Preferred Qualifications
• Proficiency or familiarity with design and drawing software such as AutoCAD, Revit, NavisWorks, SAP2000, GT STRUDL, STAAD.Pro, or MathCAD
• Experience with containerized structures, industrial buildings, or off-grid utility projects
• Knowledge of finite element analysis (FEA) techniques and tools
• Familiarity with energy systems (PV foundations, battery enclosures) is an asset
• Enthusiasm for sustainable infrastructure, rural development, and digital innovation
