ONE Campaign is hiring a Digital and social media Consultant.

ONE is scaling up its advocacy and campaigning efforts for a fixed period to double down on achieving urgent COVID vaccine access and economic recovery goals. The world now has the knowledge and the means to end the pandemic everywhere, but currently only 2.3% of people in low-income countries have received at least one dose of the vaccine compared to 69% of the population in rich countries. Governments must urgently step up to ensure that 70% of the world’s population is vaccinated by September 2022 and that a sustainable global economic response plan is delivered that works for everyone.
We are seeking expertise and extra capacity in a number of key areas, including digital and social media engagement in Africa. This is a unique opportunity to work on a project that has potential to impact millions of lives.

About the opportunity
The Africa Digital and Social Media Consultant will provide support to the ONE in Africa, Content and Digital Innovation and Insight Teams, to help manage the ONE.org/Africa website and the Africa team’s social media channels to ensure they remain an effective tool in support of ONE’s campaigning and advocacy work in the region.
The experienced consultant will be skilled in creating social media content and developing timelines and digital plans. The anticipated duration and level of effort for this consultancy is 10 months, up to 30 hours per week. The Consultant will work with the Africa Campaigns Director.

In this role, you will
• Create social media and blog content
• Develop timelines and schedule content for social media
• Post content to the ONE.org blog
• Support ONE’s Africa team as they implement digital plans to grow ONE’s Africa social platforms
• Support the Content Team to ensure digital content and platforms are integrated into ONE’s global campaigns and contribute to broader campaign development
• Work with respective markets to plan and collate content for ONE in Africa Social Media Accounts
• Seek out digital opportunities to deliver ONE’s supporter engagement strategy in line with current plans and commitments and in collaboration with market leads and the Engagement and Mobilization Team
• Contribute to digital projects for each market as required
• Identify and recommend key Market social influencers to engage with ONE
• Develop social media plans to support market solidarity campaign Projects to increase audience engagement
• Monitor performance of our social media pages to ensure efficiency, and follow up to ensure continuous engagement and growth
• Maintain a strong knowledge of developments, innovations, and new tech in digital, social media and identify any that may be of benefit ONE
• Propose new ideas and concepts for social media content
• Analyze and produce reports on social and content performance
• Coordinate social media advertising and work in collaboration with relevant team members to run and monitor organic or paid promotion
• Review social media performance and make recommendations on potential improvements

What you bring to ONE
• Experience in running and managing digital and social media campaigns.
• Expert knowledge and understanding of digital content and social media.
• Excellent digital writing and editing skills.
• Experience of integrating paid advertising strategies to support campaigns.
• Experience of using social media publishing platforms such as Buffer or Facebook Business Manager
• Experience of publishing content via a CMS such as WordPress
• Have your own computer or laptop that can run all the software you need and hard drive space to keep ONE files.
• Willingness to learn and develop new skills and imbibe ONE’s values.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Highly organized, detail oriented and self-motivated
• Flexible and resourceful approach
• Ability to remain positive in high pressure and stressful situations.

Language skills
Fluency in English is required. Fluency in other languages highly preferred such as French.
