Senior Project Accountant (French-and Swahili-speaking) – Senegal

CLIENT
Linum Consult's client is an international mining company well established in Africa.
They are looking for a French- and Swahili-speaking Senior Project Accountant to join their team in Senegal.
This position is on a rotation of 4 weeks on, 2 weeks off.

RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Performing day-to-day activities pertaining to project cost monitoring for Plant upgrade projects
- Liaising between the Owner’s team and the Operations team
- Assisting with raising cost awareness, ensuring timely and accurate capital expenditure reporting, and processing the annual budget
- Providing day-to-day information to stakeholders; identifying and developing additional reports to improve the overall quality of reporting

Reports will include:
- Cost & cash flow management
- Planning & scheduling all main activities regarding the capital cost control function
- EPCM cost control
- Project accounting
- Trend & change management
- Progress measurement & evaluation, and project reporting
- Forecasting cost to completion
- Facilitating the site finance team on the implementation of accounting policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and standard work instructions (SWIs)

PROFILE :
- Degree qualification in Business, Accounting or Finance
- Around 5-8 years’ experience in Finance as a Project Accountant/ Capital Cost Controller
- Experience with planning, budgeting, and cost control
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office, with working knowledge of MS Project
- Previous experience of working in Pronto or similar ERP software is essential
- Very strong in data analysis, documentation, organisational, planning, and prioritisation skills
- Excellent people management and communication skills
- Fluent in French, Swahili, and English
