Commercial and Contracts Analyst (Only for Locals).

Overall, Job Purpose
The Commercial and Contracts Analyst will be responsible for managing and analyzing contracts within the contracts departments (Operations and Maintenance contract with the client and Subcontracts). This role involves drafting and negotiating terms and conditions of mainly LTSA, ensuring compliance with contractual terms by the company and contractors, identifying and mitigating contractual risks, and providing strategic insights to optimize contract performance. The analyst will work closely with various stakeholders, including operations, procurement, material logistics, HSSE, finance, legal and local content teams, to support the organization’s contractual objectives.


Core Responsibilities
Contract Management:
• Review, draft, and negotiate commercial contracts, ensuring alignment with organizational policies, client requirements, laws and regulations and objectives.
• Maintain a comprehensive database of all contracts, including key terms, renewal dates, and compliance requirements.
• Monitor contract performance and compliance, identifying and addressing any issues or discrepancies through supplier performance review.
• Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
• Conduct thorough risk assessments for new and existing contracts.
• Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to protect the organization’s interests.
• Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
• Work closely with internal stakeholders, including operations, HSSE, procurement, finance, legal and local content teams, to ensure seamless contract execution.
• Serve as a point of contact for external vendors and partners regarding contract-related inquiries and negotiations.
• Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among all parties involved in the contract lifecycle.
Process Improvement:
• Identify opportunities for process improvements in contract management and commercial analysis.
• Implement best practices and standardized procedures in oil and gas business to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Stay updated on oil and gas industry trends and regulatory changes that may impact contract management practices.


HSSEQ Requirements and Code of Conduct:
• HSSEQ: Complies with the MODEC Group HSSEQ Code of Conduct as described in the HSSEQ Policies, the 14 HSSEQ Standards, and the HSSEQ Procedures to always protect people and the environment. Has a duty of care to ensure that all personnel work in a manner that is not harmful to their own health and safety and the health and safety of others.
• Compliance: Complies with the MODEC Group Policy Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and always expected training.
• Make manpower and financial resources available for the purposes of technical integrity assurance and, where appropriate “added value” training in safety and environmental protection.
• Ensure that Emergency Response capabilities are constantly maintained. Member of the Emergency Response Group.
• Encourage employee participation in areas of safety, environmental protection and technical integrity as per requirements of the Safety Case.
• Ensure all resources are available where required to efficiently ensure continued technical integrity of the MODEC FPSO/FSO.
• Ensure that a communication forum for HSSEQ exists.
• Ensure that training resources for HSSEQ are available.
• Encourage behavior observation systems.


Financial and Operational Dimensions/Impact and Decision-making Authority (if applicable)
• Complies with Authorization Matrix Procedure, available in the Integrated Management System (IMS).
Work Relationships
• As per indication on the Organizational Chart, available in the Integrated Management System (IMS).
Job Challenges and Problem Solving
Strong understanding of contract law, commercial terms, and risk management principles.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
• Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.
• Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.


Qualifications & Experience
Educational Qualification:
Certification(s):
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Law, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certification (e.g., Certified Commercial Contracts Manager) is a plus.


Relevant Experience
• Proven experience in contract management, commercial analysis, or a related role, preferably within the oil and gas business or similar environment.
• Experience in the oil and gas sector or a related industry.
• Knowledge of operations and maintenance contract
• Familiarity with financial modeling and forecasting techniques.


Language(s) and Software
Fluent in English.

Working Conditions
The role may involve working extended hours to meet critical deadlines or during peak periods.
