SENET is a leading EPCM company specialising in the mining and mineral processing sector. We are seeking a local experienced Procurement Coordinator to join our Projects team in Dakar, Senegal.
The Procurement Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating procurement activities throughout project execution, ensuring that procurement activities are aligned with technical requirements, commercial objectives, and project schedules.
The successful candidate will work closely with Engineering, Logistics, Expediting, Quality, Cost Control, suppliers, vendors, clients, and other project stakeholders to ensure the timely and effective procurement of goods and services.


Responsibilities
• Coordinate procurement activities throughout project execution.
• Prepare, maintain, and update the Project Enquiry Register.
• Prepare and maintain Procurement Status Reports, including updates on purchase orders and procurement progress.
• Prepare and issue Requests for Quotation (RFQs) for goods and services.
• Manage the tendering process in accordance with company procurement procedures.
• Evaluate supplier quotations and support technical and commercial bid adjudications.
• Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, discounts and delivery schedules with suppliers.
• Prepare adjudication reports and procurement recommendations for project and client approval.
• Review Purchase Requisitions (PREQs) for completeness, accuracy and compliance.
• Liaise with the Cost Controller to confirm budget availability before committing expenditure.
• Prepare and issue Purchase Orders to approved vendors.
• Resolve commercial queries relating to quotations, pricing, contractual terms and order requirements.
• Apply and interpret Incoterms to ensure appropriate allocation of costs, risks and responsibilities.
• Monitor procurement activities against the project schedule and key project milestones.
• Participate in project and client meetings, providing procurement updates and identifying potential risks or delays.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Logistics, Expediting, Quality, Vendors and Clients to ensure effective procurement execution.
• Maintain accurate procurement records in accordance with document control requirements.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, contractual obligations, ethical procurement practices and applicable legislation.
• Identify and escalate procurement risks, supplier performance issues and schedule delays.

What We’re Looking For
• 5–8 years’ experience in a Procurement Coordinator or similar procurement role within EPCM, engineering or major capital projects.
• Experience or exposure to mining and mineral processing projects.
• Experience working with international and/or regional suppliers.
• Strong commercial, sourcing and negotiation skills.
• Sound understanding of procurement processes and Incoterms.
• Experience managing RFQs, supplier evaluations, purchase orders and procurement reporting.
• Strong coordination, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
• Knowledge of the Senegalese or West African procurement and supplier environment will be advantageous.

Language requirements
• Fluent French – written and spoken.
• Good working knowledge of English – written and spoken.
• Ability to communicate effectively with local Senegalese stakeholders and international project teams.

Qualifications
Relevant qualification in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Purchasing or a related field.
