Project Description: The Center on Human Trafficking Research & Outreach’s African Programming and Research Initiative to End Slavery (APRIES) at the University of Georgia in the US is seeking a consultant to advise a program to combat human trafficking in Guinea. APRIES manages a grant from the U.S. Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons to estimate and reduce the prevalence of child trafficking in Guinea. The overall goals of our project are to measurably reduce child trafficking in Boke and Mamou areas of Guinea through the following objectives:
Collect, analyze, and establish robust baseline data on the prevalence of child trafficking in Boke and Mamou areas of Guinea.
Enhance the quality and scope of our implementing partners’ anti-child trafficking operations resulting in a measurable reduction in baseline reporting in target communities and an increase in number of victims served from baseline by April 2024.
APRIES is building a think tank with talented individuals who will provide support to our projects.
We have identified a strong need for three (3) project consultants, who will be part of the think tank, each of whom should possess expertise in at least one of the following areas:

Research or methodology with hard-to-reach populations
Policy analysis and government workings in anti-trafficking laws and initiatives
Programming and service provision to victims and survivors of trafficking
Responsibilities of Consultant: We seek consultants who can accomplish the following objectives in close collaboration with APRIES and country stakeholders:
Act as advisors to APRIES’ Country Coordinators and Implementing Partners.
Co-write briefs and other written materials relevant to consultant’s area of expertise.
Strategize meaningful and feasible interventions relevant to consultant’s area of expertise.
Develop plans for strengthening sustainability into anti-trafficking efforts after the APRIES grant ends.

This position is not a full-time commitment but is outcome based.
APRIES seeks consultants who are already working full-time in their fields, where they are established and respected.
Consultants should also possess a strong passion for ending human trafficking in their respective country and in West Africa.
This consultancy provides an opportunity to strengthen APRIES’ anti-trafficking interventions and effect long-lasting change.

Length of Consultancy:
The consultancy lasts through September 2024 and is renewable every 12 months upon a satisfactory performance evaluation by the APRIES Director.

Requirements:
· At least 10 years of experience working in one of the areas of expertise listed above: research, policy, or programming.
· Currently employed or self-employed in respective field
· At least 10 years of experience working in the anti-trafficking field or other vulnerable populations.
· Full-time residency in Guinea.
· Master’s or doctorate degrees are expected for those interested in policy or research while at least a first degree is expected for those interested in programming.
· French and English fluency (written and spoken).

Remuneration: US$1,000/month
