About ChildFund
ChildFund is a dynamic child-and youth-focused organization committed to expanding its work with and for children in communities all over the world. We are embarking on a bold growth strategy—building new capabilities and forging strategic partnerships to amplify our impact. Our goal is to ensure that children grow up healthy, educated, skilled, and safe wherever they are.

ChildFund’s Values
We aspire for every person in our organization—program participants, supporters, staff, and volunteers alike—to feel free, safe, and confident to be themselves. In our culture of connection, you will have ample opportunity to grow, learn, and lead while contributing your talents and innovations to our inspiring mission.

ChildFund’s Commitment
ChildFund International has a zero-tolerance policy regarding sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment (SEAH) and all other forms of harm by its staff, partners, and other representatives in the delivery of its mission and services for children. ChildFund is committed to creating a safe environment in the workplace as well as in the communities where it delivers programs and services. ChildFund expects every staff member, partner, and representative to adhere to this commitment and to ensure all organizational policies and standards are followed. This position is subject to a range of vetting checks, including a criminal records check and/or disclosure to ensure program participants are safeguarded.

About This Role
This position is open to candidates with current residence and work authorization in Dakar, Senegal.
The Country Director, Senegal & Guinea is a visionary and strategic leader who serves as ChildFund’s principal representative in the country. This role demands a dynamic, entrepreneurial individual with a sharp instinct for opportunities—someone who can navigate complex landscapes to elevate ChildFund’s visibility, influence, and impact. As a skilled networker and alliance builder, the Country Director cultivates and sustains high-level relationships with donors, government agencies, private sector actors, and civil society organizations to unlock new funding streams and expand ChildFund’s reach.
With a strong focus on innovation, growth, and systems change, the Country Director leads efforts to secure larger, more strategic grants and ensures their timely and high-quality execution. They drive the diversification of revenue sources, including non-traditional funding, while scaling impactful programs that respond to the evolving needs of children and communities. The role provides strategic oversight across a broad portfolio, including advocacy and communications, partnership portfolio management, program delivery, sponsorship stewardship, administration and support, enterprise risk management, disaster risk reduction, and safety and security.
The Country Director strengthens internal systems to enhance operational efficiency, accountability, and organizational resilience, while also driving external systems change—working with partners and stakeholders to improve service delivery mechanisms, community structures, and coordination platforms. This dual focus ensures sustainable, scalable impact and more effective outcomes for children. Through bold and adaptive leadership, the Country Director fosters a culture of excellence, agility, and continuous learning, steering the Senegal & Guinea Country Office toward greater self-sufficiency and competitiveness. Above all, they ensure that ChildFund’s values and safeguarding commitments are upheld across all operations, building a robust and adaptive organization capable of delivering lasting change.
