ISD Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Coordinator (Interim)

SUMMARY OF THE JOB:
The Diversity and Inclusion Coordinator will lead the school’s diversity and inclusion efforts to attain the Board of Trustees’ goal of everyone in the community is heard, respected, and valued. The Coordinator will work with the administration, teachers, staff, Board of Trustees, and consultants to implement the Administration’s DEI action plan, which will include professional development, listening sessions, policy review, and review of the curriculum, etc.
This position will be a part-time position, 60% of full-time teacher contract. The position may be combined with other responsibilities at ISD. For example, 40% teaching, 60% DEI Coordinator.
The position will be advertised both internally and externally.
The appointment will be for one-year. The position will be advertised and recruited internationally in the fall of 2022. The person selected for this position for 2022-2023 may apply for the permanent position.
This position is tentative as the Board still needs to approve the funding for the position. I am optimistic the funding will be approved by early June.

• Strong oral and written communication skills
Summary of Duties:
• Support administrators in the development of culturally-competent, anti-racist, equitable, and fair practices in faculty and staff through professional development, i.e., orientation, workshops, and discussion groups.
• Lead Diversity and Inclusion Team of educators to provide campus-wide professional development
• Participate in teacher and administrator recruitment process.
• Support students, parents, and staff as needed to process issues with discrimination, bias, and micro-aggression.
• In collaboration with the school-wide leadership team, ensure school policy, procedures, and events are inclusive and respectful of the diverse stakeholder groups.
• Organize and facilitate listening sessions
• Foster the development of inclusive and equitable policies and practices school-wide
• Serve as the lead and point person for divisional and/or staff initiatives while maintaining a K-12 vision
• Support curriculum review for discrimination and bias in collaboration with the IB Coordinators
• Liaise with consultants
• Represent the school on international organizations and conferences (AIELOC, ISS Diversity Collaborative, etc.)
• Sponsor student Social Justice Club
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT & CONTRACT:
• The initial appointment is as an interim will be for one-year. The successful candidate may apply for the permanent position.
• The position is a part-time with a salary range of $25,000 to $30,000 USD
• The successful candidate would also receive a leadership stipend
