Job description
This position serves as the principal technical aviation support specialist to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Senior Representative with responsibility for research, planning and coordinating the regional and country work programs as determined by the American Officer within the general guidelines provided by FAA HQ.
The incumbent provides the FAA Senior Representative with information and recommendations in the execution and reporting of program objectives.
The position acts for the FAA Senior Representative, as needed, and may involve extended periods of time when the FAA Senior Representative is transitioning or not physically in the FAA Africa office in Dakar.
Job requirements
• All selected candidates will be subject to a background investigation and may be subject to a pre-employment medical exam.
• Selected candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time upon receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.
• A bachelor’s degree in aviation; business/public administration; international relations; applied science or engineering is required.
• For Grade 10: A minimum of four years of aviation-specific work experience, including but not limited to, public relations, business, program management, safety, security, regulations and standards, airport systems, or air traffic control systems.
• For Grade11: A minimum of five years of aviation-specific work experience, including but not limited to, public relations, business, program management, safety, security, regulations and standards, airport systems, or air traffic control systems.
