About the position: Under the authority of the Executive Director, he/she is responsible for leading scientific research. Activities
? Coordinate the implementation of IPAR's research strategy
? Conduct action research projects, both in the research, capacity building and policy dialogue components, included in the annual work program;
? Supervise, facilitate and develop the implementation of the program in the field with the research teams and the internal or external partners;
? Write the quarterly progress reports of program under his/her responsibility, in relation with the financial manager;
? Write briefing notes and correspondence relating to the programs under his/her responsibility;
? Analyze the technical cases submitted to IPAR for assessment;
? Represent IPAR in national and international technical meetings ; Required qualifications PhD in social sciences, particularly in the fields of economics, development anthropology, geography or any other equivalent field. The candidate must:
? Have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in research;
? Be perfectly bilingual: French/English;
? Have a mastery of statistical and econometric tools
? Have Good foundation in applied research methods
? Be immediately available. Required skills
? Ability to coordinate a team of about 20 researchers
? Strong expertise in one of IPAR's scientific areas: youth employment and migration, SDGs, climate change, value chains;
? Very good knowledge of the Senegalese and West African scientific community and environment.
? References in the field of scientific foresight and programming, as well as in the management of national and international projects and research teams.
? Competencies in quantitative research methods;
? Data Analysis Skills;
? Expertise in the coordination of field surveys;
? Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team;
? Ability to lead a multidisciplinary team;
? Mastery of the office pack;
? Mastery of data processing software (SPSS, STATA, etc.)

?
