Teach For Senegal (TFS) is focused on developing a movement of leaders across the nation committed to ending educational inequity. In the short term, through a two-year Fellowship, TFS recruits Senegal’s most outstanding university graduates and young professionals of all academic disciplines to teach as full-time teachers (Fellows) in high-need schools in poor communities. Through this experience, our Fellows gain exposure to the realities of Senegal’s education system and identify their role in building a wider movement for educational equity. Position Summary
The Development Officer will be responsible for building the funding base to support Teach For Senegal’s ambitious programmatic goals. This will include working with the Chief Executive Officer as they raise funds to support the program and operations of Teach For Senegal. The Officer will drive prospect research, portfolio management, donor management, and donation operations. TFS operates with a deep sense of possibility and perseverance with a team of young, dynamic, and diverse individuals. Roles and Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to
• Teach For Nigeria has different sources of funding. Some of these include Corporates, Foundations, Individual Giving, Government, Online, and Events, among others. The officer will be responsible for driving the development of some of these streams, including supporting the team with prospect research, portfolio management, and managing gift operations.
• Tapping into various networks to increase the base of donors
• Ensure that the team sticks to processes, including keeping all proposals and documents up to date on the team site and updated on the tracker
• Preparing updates, proposals, and progress reports to all donors
• Work with the finance team to ensure all reports are sent to donors in a complete and timely fashion
• Work with the program team to ensure all reports are sent to donors in a complete and timely manner
• Work with the communications team to ensure all marketing collateral are up to
• date and effective
• Conducts research and builds new partnerships with potential donors.
• Coordinates all-in-kind support from different organizations

Additional responsibilities
• Vendor management in terms of prints/ other technical requirements in terms of design
• To provide support to the larger communications team during events and campaigns

Education and Experience
• 3-5 years of relevant work experience
• Graduate/post graduate
