The role
We are looking for a Programme Support Officer to support our programmes and projects in our work with foundations and other private and public sector clients. Areas of work include programme support, research and analysis, administrative and logistical support, and organising and facilitating meetings and events. The main responsibilities of this role are:
Logistical and administrative support for clients
• Support the identification of and connection of the client with key partners in Senegal when required.
• Provide logistical, administrative and human resources support to visiting clients upon request.
• Support the development of travel and meeting agendas.
• Support the organisation of key meetings.
• Support all necessary transport, accommodation and logistics arrangements Support any necessary visa processes.
• Contribute to the preparation of pre-trip briefing documents, which may include an overview of the sector, government priorities and key people.
• Develop and regularly update a database of service providers.
Facilitating meetings and events
• Support the development of agendas in line with the client’s model.
• Support the organisation of necessary translation services.
• Support the organisation of various partners’ meetings in Senegal: agenda, invitations, communication support, draft reports.
Program and research support
• Introducing the client, when necessary, and facilitating contacts with decision makers.
• Support the preparation of official correspondence to the government.
• Support research and collaboration with local organisations by contributing to the client’s database of local organisations for potential investment opportunities.
• Support the update of the database of key ministries and key agencies in Senegal.
• Any other additional assignments as requested by the client.
Qualification and skills
• Degree in social sciences, political science, international relations, public policy or similar field.
• 3 to 5 years’ professional experience.
• Perfect command of official and administrative French is required. A good working knowledge of English is an asset.
• Strong and proven logistical and organisational skills.
• Strong understanding of public policy issues.
• Good writing and synthesis skills.
• Strong relationships with key stakeholders within government and with other local partners.
• Solid knowledge of political, cultural and religious dynamics in Senegal.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build and manage relationships.
• Demonstrate ethics, values and integrity in the workplace.
• Ability to demonstrate transparency at all times.
• Ability to work under time pressure.
