JOB DESCRIPTION

Location: Flexible in Africa Region. Senegal, Ethiopia, or Kenya preferred. Other location where Oxfam is present, and you have the existing right to work


Contract: 4 years fixed term
One Oxfam Grade: C2
Salary and benefits: National
Oxfam International is unable to guarantee the obtaining of a work permit for the role. Candidates must already have and be able to retain the legal right to work in the location where they are based. We are not able to support the relocation of a candidate to take up the position in an Oxfam location.

THE ROLE
Oxfam International’s Africa Platform is looking for a Risk & Compliance Advisor who coordinates compliance and risk management support to the Africa Platform.
The following dimensions aim to provide a clear sense of the framework and scope of the role within the Sub Sahara Region (countries and SAF Cluster): 1. Support in risk assessment, monitoring and good quality risk management for all operational areas 2. Support in training and as knowledge resource

WE’RE LOOKING FOR A PERSON WITH
• Accreditation as an auditor, accountant, or substantial relevant professional experience
• Strong familiarity with various business controls (HR, Finance, Procurement, Logs, I.T, Programmes) is required.
• Experience of reviewing compliance and leading on successful improvement plans
• Understanding of risk management
• Good knowledge and experience of humanitarian and/or global development work
• Ability to travel often within the Sub-Sahara region in the countries and SAF Cluster where Oxfam has operations.
• Strong familiarity with the different types of instruments (Grants, Contracts, sub-awards, etc.)
• Experience in delivering presentations and training/workshops
• Numeracy and computer proficiency (MS Office packages)
• Excellent English language (oral and written) and working knowledge of French
