Responsibilities
Multimedia support
• Assist in preparing and adapting animated maps, graphic icons, text animations, and custom designs for situation reports, emergency communications, and resource mobilization appeals to assist with the creation of audio-visual products.
• Assist in producing video templates for use at RO and CO levels, including multilingual contexts.
• Support repacking and editing of video content for Regional Office Communications platforms.Provide support in photography and videography activities to capture high-quality audiovisual materials.
• Provide audio-visual support to departments and divisions at HQ, as assigned.
• Collaborate with the Senior Media and Communication Officer to gather project requirements and multimedia materials.
• Assist in refining video and photo content for final production.
Digital Communications Support
• Assist in posting content on RO Dakar and other relevant IOM digital platforms.
• Support the maintenance of a social media archive, organizing posts, visuals, and campaign materials for easy retrieval and reporting.
• Monitor official social media channels to collect trends, audience sentiment, and emerging issues related to migration topics and IOM’s work.
• Contribute to the preparation of digital content for online platforms, including graphics, short-form videos, and infographics to enhance IOM’s digital presence.
• Support tracking engagement metrics and preparing concise analytical reports to inform digital campaigns.
• Perform such other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Audio-visual, Motion Design, Art Direction, Communications, Digital Media or related fields from an accredited academic institution with two years of relevant professional experience; or,
• Master’s degree in above-mentioned fields.
Experience
• Experience in audio-visual production, multimedia content, or digital communications.
• Experience using multimedia production software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut or similar) for video editing, graphic design, and animations.
• Experience in photography, videography, or audiovisual content support.
• Experience contributing to the development or maintenance of multimedia templates or visual materials is desirable.
• Prior experience working in the humanitarian or development sector is considered an advantage.
Skills
• Proficiency in using professional-grade camera equipment for video and photography.
• Basic knowledge of studio-quality sound equipment for audio capture.
• Familiarity with multimedia editing software and audiovisual production techniques.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other members of the multimedia unit.
• Knowledge of IOM’s mandate and programme of activities is desirable.
• Attention to detail and ability to support the delivery of high-quality audiovisual outputs.
Languages
• All IOM staff members in all categories are required to be fluent in one of the IOM’s official languages (English, French, Spanish).
• For this position, fluency in French is required (oral and written). Working knowledge of English is required.
• Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.
