About the Job Scope
The IT Network and System Manager is responsible for ensuring the availability, security, reliability and performance of DP World Dakar’s IT infrastructure, systems and network services.
The role leads the Network & Systems team while ensuring operational excellence across datacenter infrastructure, cloud services, enterprise applications, end-user computing and cybersecurity.
This position is essential to maintain business continuity, improve operational efficiency, support digital transformation initiatives and guarantee high availability of mission-critical systems supporting terminal operations.
Job Purpose
The IT Network and System Manager is responsible for planning, implementing, securing and maintaining the organization’s IT infrastructure.
The position is responsible for:
• Ensuring high availability, resilience and optimal performance of business-critical infrastructure, systems and network services.
• Managing and securing Microsoft, Linux and cloud-based platforms, as well as enterprise infrastructure technologies.
• Leading, mentoring and developing the Network & Systems team while fostering a collaborative, customer-focused and high-performance work environment.
• Delivering IT infrastructure services that meet business requirements, agreed service levels and operational expectations.
• Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with business stakeholders to understand their needs, manage expectations and provide timely, cost-effective IT solutions.
• Ensuring compliance with DP World IT governance, cybersecurity standards, architecture guidelines and infrastructure best practices.
• Developing, implementing and maintaining Business Continuity (BCP) and Disaster Recovery (DR) capabilities to ensure operational resilience.
• Managing IT infrastructure vendors, service providers and contractors, ensuring contractual obligations, service quality and performance standards are consistently achieved.
• Planning, monitoring and controlling departmental and project budgets while identifying opportunities for cost optimization and operational efficiency.
• Driving continuous improvement through infrastructure modernization, process optimization, technology innovation and adherence to industry best practices.
• Ensuring that all infrastructure technologies meet DP World Dakar’s requirements for functionality, scalability, performance, availability and reliability.
• Promoting compliance with Health, Safety, Security and Environmental (HSSE) policies and ensuring safe working practices within the IT infrastructure domain.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure & Systems Management
• Manage and maintain enterprise server infrastructure (physical and virtual).
• Ensure 24/7 availability of IT infrastructure.
• Manage Windows Server platforms and Microsoft ecosystem.
• Administer Microsoft 365 environment, including licensing and security.
• Perform installation, configuration, upgrades and lifecycle management of servers.
• Manage storage systems and optimize capacity planning.
• Monitor system performance and proactively resolve issues.
• Perform root cause analysis for infrastructure incidents.
• Manage operating system patching and vulnerability remediation.
• Maintain backup, recovery and disaster recovery procedures.
Network Administration
• Manage LAN, WAN, WLAN and Internet connectivity.
• Maintain VPN connectivity with corporate headquarters, customers, administration…
• Monitor network performance and availability.
• Administer firewalls, switches, routers and network security appliances.
• Ensure network redundancy and resilience.
• Support datacenter and communication infrastructure.
Enterprise Applications Support
• Provide Level 3 support for enterprise applications.
• Support Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint.
• Support critical operational applications including: Oracle – Maximo – Navis N4 – Zodiac
• Gate Automation – Winspot – Online Billing – Other business applications
Coordinate with software vendors for issue resolution.
End User Computing
• Manage lifecycle of IT assets including: PCs – Laptops – Virtual Machines – Handheld devices, VMTs – Printers – Mobile devices – Other IT equipment
• Ensure software deployment and maintenance.
• Support workstation operating systems.
• Maintain IT asset inventory.
Monitoring & Incident Management
• Manage infrastructure monitoring platforms.
• Maintain activity logs.
• Manage incident lifecycles using ITSM tools.
• Produce operational reports.
• Establish preventive maintenance plans.
• Ensure SLA compliance.
Cybersecurity & Compliance
• Implement infrastructure security best practices.
• Ensure compliance with corporate cybersecurity standards.
• Participate in security audits.
• Support vulnerability management.
• Ensure compliance with software licensing.
• Maintain access controls and privileged accounts.
Business Continuity
• Maintain Business Continuity Plan (BCP).
• Ensure Disaster Recovery Readiness.

Vendor & Budget Management
• Manage infrastructure vendors and service providers.
• Supervise contractors.

• Lead the Network & Systems team.

Profile
Education: Master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology or related discipline.
Experience
• Minimum 10 years of experience in IT Infrastructure and Systems Administration.
• At least 5 years in a leadership or supervisory role.

• Experience in datacenter operations.
• Experience with Microsoft, Linux technologies.
