Finance and Administrative Officer.
We are looking for a dedicated Finance and Administrative Officer to manage all financial and administrative aspects of the Pic de Fon project.

• Salary: 2,100 – 2,500 EUR per month, depending on skills/experience

We are looking for a dedicated Finance and Administrative Officer to manage all financial and administrative aspects of the Pic de Fon project, ensuring compliance with donor requirements, local regulations, and BirdLife International’s policies.
In this role you will be providing oversight on budget management, financial reporting, and contracts, while also guiding and building the capacity of local staff and partners in Guinea to progressively take over financial responsibilities.
How you will do this
• Oversee the development and management of the project’s financial systems, including budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance with donor requirements.
• Ensure compliance with BirdLife International’s and donor’s financial policies and procedures when implementing the project.
• Monthly Monitoring of financial performance against budgets, proposing corrective actions where necessary.
• Facilitate system and expenditure verification audits for the project by ensuring the procurement of an independent auditor and providing the necessary information.
• Support contracting and disbursing of grants.
• Support with payments and posting on the system
• Provide training and support to Guinée Ecologie’s finance team to build their capacity in financial management, budget planning, and compliance.
• Guide and support the Partners Procurement & Admin Officer in financial management, ensuring accurate budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
• Work towards the progressive handover of financial responsibilities to the Procurement & Admin Officer.
• Provide strategic oversight during the procurement process, ensuring adherence to BirdLife International’s policies and alignment with project goals.
• Collaborate closely with the programme Technical Advisor (and the Project Management Team staff) to monitor financial aspects of contracts.
What we are looking for
• An Advanced degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• At least 4 years’ experience in financial management, preferably in the NGO or development sectors.
• Strong analytical capabilities, with the ability to assess financial performance, evaluate risks, and make data-driven decisions to adapt strategies as needed.High level of creativity in problem-solving and a proactive approach to addressing financial challenges within the project.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and French, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly.
• Proficiency in financial software and tools (e.g., MS Excel, Enterprise Resource Planning).
• In-depth knowledge of financial management practices, donor compliance requirements, and public-private partnerships.
• Willingness and ability to travel to remote areas within Guinea and potentially to other project sites in Africa.
Some nice to haves
• Familiarity with the environmental, social, and political landscape of West Africa
• Experience in Guinea in a similar role
