Signature Program Technical Lead – Senegal

Since 1944, Heifer International has been at the forefront of fighting hunger and poverty, helping over 36 million families achieve sustainable livelihoods. In Senegal, Heifer is working to support 200,000 households in building economic resilience through market-driven solutions. Our Building Women and Youth Economic Resilience in the Sahel Signature Program (2022–2030) focuses on strengthening value chains in sheep, goats, horticulture, poultry, and dairy, while forging partnerships with the private sector and government to scale impactful solutions.
The Function
We are looking for a Signature Program Technical Lead to drive the successful implementation of Heifer Senegal’s Signature Program and related projects. This role will oversee program design, execution, and impact measurement while ensuring alignment with Heifer’s strategic priorities, donor guidelines, and industry best practices. The Technical Lead will work closely with government agencies, private sector partners, and donors to develop sustainable and scalable solutions for smallholder farmers. Reporting to the Country Director, this role also collaborates with regional technical teams and supervises project managers and coordinators.
The Person
The ideal candidate is a highly experienced leader with 10–15 years of program management expertise, including at least 5 years in market systems and value chain development. A Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, business, international development, or a related field is required, with a Master’s degree preferred. This role demands a strong track record in stakeholder engagement, strategic leadership, financial oversight, and team management.
