We are recruiting for our client who operates in the mining sector, an ERT bilingual Emergency Coordinator M/F

Place of work: Kédougou, Senegal

The responsibilities of the M/F Emergency Coordinator are to ensure that effective emergency and crisis preparedness is developed and maintained for the group and to ensure that all ERT members are trained in the procedures of the site and process to ensure an effective emergency response is maintained.

Main duties

Provide advice on emergency management issues and training requirements
Perform site-wide inspections and provide feedback using approved checklists as required frequencies and rectify non-conformities. (Eyewash stations and safety showers, fire extinguisher, hydrants, etc.)
Provide technical advice and support on emergency response and ERT training issues and keep abreast of industry trends in related legislation
Ensure training packages and emergency response procedures are accurate and up-to-date and align with industry standards
Assist in the development of emergency drill schedules and ensure that drills are carried out in accordance with legal and site requirements according to PMC standards
Assist in the development and maintenance of the crisis management and recovery preparedness plan and procedures.
Training and qualifications

5 years of proven experience in a similar role
Current driver’s license from Senegal
First aid training
Certificate in Workplace Training and Assessment or similar
Certificate II in Mining Emergency Response or similar
Experience working at a mine site in an emergency response role
Ability to work with all literacy levels
Be sensitive and respectful of a multicultural work environment
Ability to work in a team environment.
