Wärtsilä hiring Business Development Manager West Africa.

Wärtsilä Energy Solutions is leading the transition towards a 100% renewable energy future. Our offering includes ultra-flexible internal combustion engine-based power plants, hybridised solar power plants, energy storage & integration solutions, as well as gas to power systems. Wärtsilä has 68 GW of installed power plant capacity in 177 countries around the world.
Wärtsilä Energy Business is looking for a Business Development manager for Africa West Region.

Position is located preferably in Dakar, Senegal

Responsibilities
• Lead market development and sales projects in the specified area and report the progress to relevant stakeholders
• As per business needs, support other areas
• Accurately forecast and deliver sales with best possible profitability with low risk profiles
• Understand/review/approve opportunity cost budget
• Define and execute country action plans
• Proactively work to enable cross-divisional and cross-organizational cooperation throughout the sales process
• Negotiate terms and conditions of contracts
• Ensure compliance of our sales activities with Wartsila internal business processes
• Ensure high level customer relationship management
• Active engagement with local and global consultants to promote and educate on Wärtsilä solutions
• Active engagement with local governments and utilities to promote and educate on Wärtsilä solutions
• Create and identify opportunities in cooperation with regional sales teams
• Negotiate project and coordinate financing arrangements with collaboration of Wartsila Finance team
• Work with internal and external experts (technical, financial, legal, environmental, etc.) in order to maximize the competitiveness of Wärtsilä solutions


Job requirements

As an ideal candidate you would have
• Customer focus
• Excellent understanding of the energy business
• Understand business objectives and customer value creation
• Strong drive for performance with positive attitude and can-do mind-set in an environment of multiple, changing priorities
• Communication, cooperation and influencing skills, experience in working in a matrix organization
• Ability to work independently as well as with cross-functional teams
• Advanced skills in facilitation, presentation and problem solving skills
• Good presentation and networking skills
• Strategic oriented mind-set, positive and analytical approach
• Financial knowledge and contractual & legal skills (ability to draft)
• Understanding of (i) technical content of our offers, and (ii) corresponding execution aspects
• MSc or equivalent technical or commercial degree
• Minimum 10 years working experience in sales within the power industry
• Fluent spoken and written English and French.
• Ability to travel in Africa and Europe
