Title: Programme Officer – Eye Health

Sightsavers is excited to be recruiting a Programme Officer to manage the daily activities and execution of Sightsavers Senegal Country Office health programmes in collaboration with eye health project partners.

As the Programme Officer you will support partners and stakeholders by managing all aspects of the project cycle, including planning, implementation and monitoring & evaluation.
You will work with partners to ensure that all documentation and reports are made available in a timely and accessible way and identify needs to technical support.

You will work to achieve the organisation’s strategic priorities of the prevention of avoidable blindness through both service delivery and advocacy work, assist partners in the preparation of budgets, monitor expenditure of project financial resources, lead in certain programmatic areas within the Country programme team, and ensure that the fund-raising and communication department in the UK receive appropriate materials and information as required especially if restricted funding that supports projects may have special reporting requirements.

As the successful candidate you will have a degree (or equivalent) in Medicine, Development Studies, Public Health, eye health, or other relevant field and possess extensive experience of implementing programmes in developing country contexts, including experience of the health / eye health sector, ideally within an NGO.
You will have a background in all aspects of project management within community development programmes, have previously worked with national governments and international institutions, and hold experience of designing/managing eye health or health systems strengthening programmes at district, national or international levels.
