UNODC hiring Intern – Communication and Infographics.

Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Deputy Regional Director, and in close collaboration with the Associate Coordination Officer, the Intern will support the implementation of the UNODC regional Communications work-plan for 2022, including various tasks related to (i) Communications and (ii) Graphic design.
• More specifically, the selected candidate will ensure the visibility of UNODC projects and programmes in the region and will be responsible for the following duties:
• Assist in the creation, collection and formatting of communication materials for meetings and conferences;
• Assisting the team in organizing events, launches of publications, seminars and conferences, global campaigns;
• Assist in drafting official communications, press releases, and articles;
• Assist in updating ROSEN website, uploading relevant information and documents through its content management system and moving to a new platform;
• Gathering and consolidating information for the website;
• Creating evergreen webpages and news stories;
• Support in monitoring the performance of the ROSEN website through Google Analytics and other relevant platforms;
• Facilitate the production and dissemination of public information material through website, brochures, reports, inputs for publication, flyers, letters, e-mails, and broadcasts in various languages as required reaching a wide public audience;
• Liaise with relevant stakeholders/colleagues to collect data and information related to implemented activities;
• Conceptualizing, creating and publishing visual pieces including infographics;
• Provide assistance in maintenance of the UNODC online platforms including Facebook, Twitter, and Tiktok;
• Perform other tasks as necessary.


Internship requirements

Education
To qualify for an internship with the United Nations Internship Programme, the following conditions must be met:
• Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s level or equivalent).
• Be computer literate in standard software applications;
• Have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter; and
• Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.

Candidates must be enrolled in a degree programme in Communications, Graphic Design, Digital Marketing or another related field meet the following requirements:
• Knowledge of web communication technologies ;
• Knowledge of web design, usability, information architecture ;
• Competency in web content management systems;
• Proficiency in professional desktop publishing, photo editing, graphic digital design and presentation;
• Experience in communications and social media outreach ;
• Proficient in using new technologies, web-based platforms and social media networks; familiarity with the Adobe Creative Suite and other design platforms is a plus.

Work Experience
• No working experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme. Your training, education, advance course work or skills should benefit the United Nations during your internship.

Languages
• English or French are the working languages of the United Nations. For the internship advertised, fluency in oral and written French and English is required. Knowledge of another UN official language is an advantage.
