UNICEF WCARO is seeking an Intern with a strong interest in IT fields as IT Helpdesk Technician, Desktop Support Specialist, Systems Administrator or Network Administrator. The intern will join the Common ICT team and will collaborate with the Regional Office teams, The Senegal Country Office teams, external IT partners and internal support (GSSC, HQ …).

How can you make a difference?

Under the supervision of the Senior ICT Associate, the Intern will be able to…

Assist in troubleshooting computer hardware and software
Assist in Software installations and configurations
Setting up computer workstations
Establish teleconference & video conference meetings
Request mobile phone service activations and packages
Ad hoc end-user support via email, IM, phone or in-person
Ensure requests are properly opened, resolved in a timely manner, documented and closed in the ticketing system
Perform other related duties as required
To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

A first university degree or Master in Information and Communications Technology , or any related field.
Excellent academic performance as demonstrated by recent university or institution records.
Be enrolled in an advance/undergraduate, or Ph.D. degree programme or have graduated within the past two years.
Have recently graduated with a university degree and, if selected, must start the internship within one-year of graduation.
Strong technical, troubleshooting and organizational skills.
Demonstrate accuracy in your work
Self-starter and self-motivator; ability to work with minimal supervision.
Excellent knowledge of computer laptop / desktop hardware and software such as Windows 10, Microsoft Office suite and other popular applications.
A good familiarity with networking, telephony, Active Directory, MS Office, tele / video conferencing, smartphone hardware and software (IOS, Android, etc.), mobile phone service technologies and ticketing systems.
Experience in developing country work experience and/or familiarity with emergencies (considered as an asset).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with fluency in French and a good knowledge in English.
