HR Advisor – Sahel West Africa
Location: Dakar, Senegal.
Salary: 1,670,136 CFA Franc (XOF) per month gross.
Full time, 12-month fixed term.

About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced HR Advisor to join our Human Resources team, providing support and advice to MAG’s managers and employees working across the West Africa Region. This is a varied and generalist operational HR role, using your professional HR skills and experience to support our lifesaving work in locations such as Chad, Mali, Burkina Faso, Nigeria, Benin, Guinea Bissau, Senegal, Mauritania and Niger.
Working with senior managers across our West Africa portfolio, you will be responsible for the review, development and implementation of HR Frameworks to ensure the fair, effective, consistent and compliant employment and management of locally contracted staff in line with MAG’s values. This will include reviewing and implementing new modes of employment, staff handbooks, reward frameworks, and general HR procedures, tools and interventions. You will also be responsible for delivering high quality generalist HR services and professional advice with regard to employees contracted from the UK but working in the West Africa region, with a focus on coordinating effective end-to-end recruitment and selection processes.
This role will be based in MAG’s office in Dakar, Senegal, but the postholder may have the opportunity to travel within the region to visit and support MAG’s projects.
About you
You will have experience of delivering HR services and supporting managers to resolve a wide range of people related issues. You will also have experience in recruitment and selection, preferably with experience of recruiting and deploying expatriate experts. You will have experience of reviewing employment law requirements, and developing and implementing HR policy and procedures, as well as experience of salary benchmarking and reward analysis. This is a fast-paced role, which will require high levels of initiative, pro-activeness and strong multi-tasking skills. You will also be a creative, flexible, solution-focused HR professional committed to MAG's goals.
Previous experience of working in an international HR setting is not necessary, but you will need sound project management, communication and influencing skills. You will also need fluency in both English and French.
