Job Summary
ARCD is seeking a motivated Project Implementation Officer to coordinate the day-to-day implementation of program activities in the Senegal Country Office. The Project Implementation Officer will work closely with the Country Director to ensure project activities are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with donor requirements, while maintaining strong relationships with beneficiaries, partners, and local authorities.
Key Responsibilities
• Coordinate the day-to-day implementation of assigned project activities in line with approved work plans and budgets
• Monitor project progress against milestones and flag delays or risks to the Country Director in a timely manner
• Support beneficiary identification, selection, and verification processes in accordance with ARCD's program criteria
• Coordinate field visits, distributions, and community engagement activities, ensuring proper documentation
• Maintain accurate project files, activity reports, and supporting documentation for donor and internal reporting
• Liaise with local partners, community leaders, and government counterparts to support smooth project delivery
• Support data collection, monitoring, and evaluation activities, including surveys and post- distribution assessments
• Contribute to the preparation of narrative and financial reports on project activities
• Ensure project activities comply with ARCDs policies on procurement, safeguarding, and financial accountability
• Support the Country Director in identifying new program opportunities and community needs
Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in development studies, Social Sciences, Public Administration, or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in the implementation of projects or programs, in particular in the supervision of construction sites, including at least 2 years within a humanitarian NGO or an international organization in Senegal.
• Demonstrated experience working directly with communities in a humanitarian or development context
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to coordinate multiple activities and meet deadlines
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Willingness and ability to travel to field sites and frequently in regions within Senegal as required
• High level of integrity and commitment to beneficiary accountability and safeguarding principles
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Fluency in French required; working proficiency in English preferred
