Likak Research, a leading clinical research organization based in Dakar, Senegal, is seeking for a talented and creative Designer to join our team. As a Designer, you will play a crucial role in creating intelligent and engaging visuals for various social media platforms and other communication channels. You will work closely with the Media and Communication Officer to ensure that our visual content effectively communicates our research initiatives, projects, and achievements to our target audience.

Purpose
The Designer officer also called simply “Designer” will undertake to conceptualize and create visually appealing designs across various media, including digitals. S/He will coordinate, manage the implementation of Likak Research design, and posts release around Likak Research clinical activities in West and Central Africa. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong creativity, and proficiency in design softwares and tools


Responsibilities
• Strengthen internal and external communications capacity
• Generate creative ideas and concepts for design projects based on clients briefs and
requirements.
• Translate conceptual ideas into visually engaging designs across various mediums, including but not limited to websites, mobile applications, branding materials, marketing collateral, and advertising campaigns.
• Work closely with the Media and Communication Officer to understand Likak Direction’s needs, preferences, and feedback, and incorporate them into the design process.
• Ensure that the branding and communication guidelines of Likak Research are uniformly and consistently followed
• Increase engagement, visibility of Likak Research activities
• Manage the production of high-quality communication products (including infographics,
factsheets) and its consistent circulation to internal staff and external stakeholders, as applicable.
• Regularly contribute ideas to improve the entire process.
• Manage the quality and efficiency of Likak Research Social Media Channels


Communication skills are an asset:
• Ability to generate relevant and well composed text for both visuals and posts

• Act as a focal point for design requests
• Work closely with the Media and Communication Officer and/or Project Management teams to develop key messages and promote programmatic goals in the design.
• Seek feedback from team members, clients, and stakeholders and incorporate it into design revisions and iterations as needed.
• Maintain proper documentation of design assets, projects files, and design specifications for future reference and collaboration.
• Conduct thorough quality checks on design deliverables to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to brand guidelines and project requirements
• Ensure proper sign-off of all design materials by Likak Research Managing Director
• Support the team and perform other duties and tasks as determined by the line manager.

Minimum required education and experience
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field, with a minimum of 2 years of work experience.
• Interest in clinical research and development issues
• Proficient computer skills required with Adobe InDesign CS, Adobe Photoshop, Publisher,
• Illustrator PPT, and MS office package, layout and design software, applications
• Knowledge of prototyping tools (e.g., Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD) is prederred.
• Familiarity with web design principles, UI/UX best practices, and responsive design concepts.
• Exceptional creativity and innovation, with a demonstrated ability to think outside the box and push the boundaries of design.
• Ability to work with people of different culture
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work successfully in team environment.
• Excellent organizational, communication, publications, and presentation skills.
• A strong portfolio showcasing a variety of design projects, including digital and print designs, with a focus on creativity, quality, and effectiveness.
• Ability and willingness to travel to project’s zones when/if required
• Fluency in French and English


Physical requirement
• Extensive use of keyboard requiring repetitive motion of fingers
• Regular sitting for extended periods of time
• Frequent travel to sites, primarily domestic, may include international travels.
• Although this position does not require the Media & Comm Officer to work from Likak Research’s head office, location in Dakar, Senegal is preferable.


Evaluation criteria for the post
• Ability to submit social media visuals on time for review and validation before subsequent month
• Successful creation of adequate, attractive, modern and efficient visuals for Likak research social media platforms and other needs.
• Ability to ingeniously use Lika research graphic Chart.
• Coordination of work with other Likak departments and colleagues, especially with the
designer
• Successful evaluations, submission of activity reports on a monthly, quarterly or annual basis, as defined with Likak CEO
