Boiler & Utility Operator_Offshore Maintenance (Only for Locals).

Overall Job Purpose
Responsible for assisting, operating and maintaining all machinery / auxiliary machinery of the offshore unit connected with the operations of the Engine Room and accommodation systems.

Core Responsibilities
• Operate the Steam system in a safe and efficient manner, thru always complying with the IMS documentation.
• Guarantee the efficiency and safety of all equipment of the Steam system, thru the inspection and maintenance of then in good condition of operation.
• Contribute with the Pressurized Systems compliance, registering any anomaly at CMMS for all pressurized equipment and pipework under his/her watch, as well as informing the equipment inspector about that.
• To keep all data control updated and controlled, by ensuring the company’s systems are duly updated every shift.
• Ensure that all of equipment used, workshops, work areas, are always maintained in a clean and tidy condition, including chemical and paint areas.
• To carry out chipping and painting as required.
• To check and record water tanks, fuel oil and other tanks ullages and quantity as defined by the Maintenance Superintendent or when requested.
• Assist during internal transfer of fuel oil, by following supervision’s instructions and complying with IMS.
• Contribute to tanks bunkering operations are conducted in accordance with rules and regulations, assisting during this process.
• Contribute to keep quality of operation, performing the water analysis and chemicals adjust requested.
• Assist in all operations of the ship’s boilers and equipment associates, when applicable.
• To guarantee boiler operation is always assisted and monitored during its operation, when applicable, as well as to know where all documentation and the operation manual are.
• Inspect the existing system for leaks, corrosion as well as advise the engine room supervisor about any irregularities found.
• Attend safety meetings when required, and to participate in the investigation of accidents and incidents.
• Ensure that the system of permission to work (PTW) is available and approved by all responsible, as well as all recommendations are implemented, as example: all areas are isolates in conformity with the isolation procedures of MODEC.
• Carry out any additional tasks inside your professional competence when requested by the Engine room supervisor or head of crew.
• Ensure that maintenance work within its scope is carried out in a safe and responsible manner, and in compliance with requirements and provisions of safety and corporate management system.
• Demonstrate ownership of own training requirements and proactively arrange training to be done/renewed in time as per MODEC Integrated Management System.

HSSE: Act in compliance with the corporate HSSEQ Management System Policy, the MODEC Life Saving Rules, and the policies, guides, process standards and work instructions available in the Integrated Management System (IMS).
Act to promote the preservation of the environment, the health and occupational safety (personnel and their team), the safety of processes, and the preservation of assets in their scale of responsibility.
• Ethics and Compliance: In compliance with the Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, as well as with MODEC Group Ethics and Compliance Policies and Local Procedures, their respective forms, online and live mandatory trainings: is committed to comply with all applicable laws, regulations and obligations and act in accordance with the highest ethical standards and with MODEC values.
• Emergency Plan: As per indication on the Training Matrix, Emergency Management Guide and Offshore Emergency Management, available in the Integrated Management System (IMS).

• Complies with Authorization Matrix Procedure, available in the Integrated Management System (IMS).
Work Relationships
• As per indication on the Organizational Chart, available in the Integrated Management System (IMS).
Job Challenges and Problem Solving
• Deal with all Operations and first line maintenance within Engine Room and Accommodation areas, due to the short team available for these scopes in these areas.

Qualifications & Experience
Educational Qualification
• High School Degree.
• Mechanical Tech or/and Maritime Oiler Course expected.

Certifications
• STCW III/4/ or III/5 – MNM/ STCW III/4 or III/5 / – MNM with valid Seaman-book.
• Seaman book-Mandatory.
Trainings: Complies with the Training Matrix and Regulatory and Required by Modec Training Management Procedure, available in the Integrated Management System (IMS).
Relevant Experience:
• Oiler I: mandatory 1 year in the function.
• Oiler II: mandatory 2 years in the function.
• Oiler III: mandatory 3 years in the function.
Experience Offshore oil and gas / FPSO experience during Operations Phase.

• Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) knowledge, expected experience with SAP.


Working Conditions
Complies with safety and occupational health conditions for the job position according to the Occupational Health Management Procedure, available in the Integrated Management System (IMS).
