Job Description :
Credit Sky seeks an entrepreneurial, self-starter and highly motivated Senior Data Analyst, to join our team for a special project. Credit Sky together with other partners are planning to develop an automated credit scoring system, hybrid between B2B and B2C, in West Africa, which may be integrated onto any finance provider’s platform. This credit scoring system will be able to be customized for individual markets (defined by country, sectors, or borrower type) based on the needs of the financiers.

This position is ideal for a professional with experience in handling complex databases and with a keen interest for fintech who wants to take his/her career to the next level of international finance.


Responsibilities of the Senior Data Analyst include:
1. Extract, transform, analyze, and summarize data using various tools including Python, SAS, R, SQL and Tableau/Qlik.
2. Design and develop dashboards that effectively summarize information and communicate trends or patterns;
3. Identify, download, process, organize, optimize, integrate and prepare large volumes of data.
4. Analyze complex data structures, synthesize the findings, and present to technical and non-technical audiences.
5. Translate high level business requirements/problems into sound and comprehensive data analytics and automation problems, recommend
appropriate tools and techniques;
6. Stay abreast with trends in the areas of statistics, data analytics and automation.
7. Identify trends in financial reporting in the focus markets and digitalization of data.

Candidate Requirements :

Essential Skills & Competencies
1. Demonstrated proficiency with SAS, R or equivalent software
2. Solid general understanding of fundamentals of statistics, finance and quantitative analytics.
3. Ability to work with large scale databases Data architecture, data lineage, data quality, data processes optimization.
4. Detail oriented and organize competing priorities. Self-sufficient, self-starter, fluent in English, team player.
5. Knowledge of financial markets and familiarity with international reporting standards
6. Understanding of fundamental data taxonomy, rationalizing company financial metadata and credit scoring methodology

Bonus experience :
1. Prior experience in setting up data analytics/data science projects/ practice at scale and in an international context is a plus.
a. Large scale data analytics program (e.g., Agile, DevOps, Waterfall)
b. Data architecture, data quality and data governance; (e.g., XBRL, IXBRL)
2. Interest and awareness in emerging technologies, FinTech, RegTech.

Required Minimum Qualifications :
1. Bachelor/master’s degree (PhD student) in Mathematics or Computer Science, Econometrics or Finance
2. Minimum 5+ years of professional data analytics experience
3. One or more programming languages and data science tools (e.g., Python, R, Java, C++, Matlab).
