Our client UnitedHealthcare Global Medical are currently inviting applications from suitably qualified Physicians who have experience in emergency medicine, anaesthesia and flight medicine to support a UN peacekeeping mission in remote West Africa.
Successful candidates will be working in a remote austere environment and within an AMET (Aeromedical Evacuation Team) conducting MEDEVAC and CASEVACs via helicopter.
Duties may also include delivering first aid training, health and fitness initiatives, sexual health and smoking cessation programmes and risk assessments.
Experience and qualifications required:
- Registered Doctor with current registration/licence to practice
Post Graduate training in either Anaesthetics, Emergency Medicine or Aero medicine taken in or before 2017
- Valid and in date certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS/ALS) or equivalent
- Valid and in date certification in Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS/ITLS/PHTLS) or equivalent
- Certification in English language, level B2 or above
- Certificate in French language, level B2 or above, preferred but not essential
- Training in Aviation Medicine preferred, but can be organised for the successful candidate
- Experience in providing treatment under night flying conditions with night vision goggles preferred, but can be organised for the successful candidate
