Description de l'offre

Programme Support and Administration Coordinator

Date: 19-Nov-2020
Location: Global Flexibility OR, UK
Company: Plan International

Since adopting our global strategy, 100 Million Reasons, our global work to advance children’s rights and equality for girls has had unprecedented impact.
We have been transforming our operations at the Global Hub to be the best possible partner for the 8,000+ staff who work in our country offices, and working to become a more agile, efficient and accountable organization.

We have improved our mechanisms for collaboration, transparency and data-gathering and disaggregation.
The transformation has increased the number of decisions to be taken close to the point of impact and distributed power more widely throughout the organisation.
We have made significant progress towards greater localisation and developing industry-leading equality, diversity and inclusion best practices.

To bring about lasting change, we have to live our values. We are committed not simply to telling the world we are the go to organisation on girls’ rights, but to embedding justice and equality in all that we do. Will you join us?

The Organisation

Plan International is an independent development and humanitarian organisation that advances children’s rights and equality for girls.

We believe in the power and potential of every child. But this is often suppressed by poverty, violence, exclusion and discrimination. And it’s girls who are most affected.

Working together with children, young people, our supporters and partners, we strive for a just world, tackling the root causes of the challenges facing girls and all vulnerable children.

We support children’s rights from birth until they reach adulthood. And we enable children to prepare for – and respond to – crises and adversity. We drive changes in practice and policy at local, national and global levels using our reach, experience and knowledge.

We have been building powerful partnerships for children for over 80 years, and are now active in more than 70 countries.

The Opportunity

As the Programme Support and Administration Coordinator you will be responsible for overseeing administrative, logistical and financial/grant oversight support across the Disaster Risk Management (DRM) team.
You will provide support to emergencies and live crises by scheduling regular emergency response oversight calls with regions, countries and National Offices, and by monitoring and tracking the utilisation of the global DRM Fund and flex fund.

In this role you will oversee travel and ensure there is good quality administrative support across the team.
You will manage the logistical requirements and organisation of workshops and analyse financial reports to provide relevant support and information to the annual planning and budgeting process.

The Individual

We are looking to recruit an adaptable individual who has excellent administration skills, some financial administration skills as well as knowledge of the humanitarian NGO sector.
You will have strong skills in Microsoft Office and experience of establishing administration tracking.

To be successful in this role you will have the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines. You will have excellent writing, research and analytical skills and you will be interpersonal and diplomatic. You will be fluent in written and spoken English and have excellent communication skills, including the ability to summarise technical issues in simple and accessible language.

Location: Global Hub (Woking, UK where we are all currently working from home due to Government restrictions) or in most locations where Plan International has a legal entity and you have the pre-existing right to live and work

Type of Role: Permanent
Reports to: Disaster Risk Management Director
Salary: We will be happy to disclose the salary and applicable benefits to applicants as part of this process, however, please kindly note that this will vary according to the location of the appointed candidate and therefore, it is not possible to include full details here.
The salary for an appointed candidate based in the UK will be in the range of £26,000 - £29,000
Closing Date: Wednesday 9 December 2020

Early application is encouraged as we will review applications throughout the advertising period and reserve the right to close the advert early.

Equality, diversity and inclusion is at the very heart of everything that Plan International stands for.

We want Plan International to reflect the diversity of the communities we work with, offering equal opportunities to everyone regardless of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex or sexual orientation.

Plan International is based on a culture of inclusivity and we strive to create a workplace environment that ensures every team, in every office, in every country, is rich in diverse people, thoughts, and ideas.

We foster an organisational culture that embraces our commitment to racial justice, gender equality, girls’ rights and inclusion.

Plan International believes that in a world where children face so many threats of harm, it is our duty to ensure that we, as an organisation, do everything we can to keep children safe.
This means that we have particular responsibilities to children that we come into contact with and we must not contribute in any way to harming or placing children at risk.

A range of pre-employment checks will be undertaken in conformity with Plan International's Safeguarding Children and Young People policy. Plan International also participates in the Inter Agency Misconduct Disclosure Scheme.
In line with this scheme we will request information from applicants previous employers about any findings of sexual exploitation, sexual abuse and/or sexual harassment during employment, or incidents under investigation when the applicant left employment.
By submitting an application, the job applicant confirms their understanding of these recruitment procedures.
