Summary:
The U.S. Mission in Dakar, Senegal is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Courier Escort.
The position is currently occupied and will become vacant between June and July 2021.
The candidate will be employed no earlier than the first pay period following the vacancy of the position.
The candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time of receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.

Travel Required:
50% or less
Travel to Dakar airport.
After duty hours will be the norm due to early flight departures and late flight arrivals.
Weekend and holiday work will be required.

Duties
Performs all duties as Classified Pouch Escort of controlled materials/pouches to and from regional airports or other locations as directed.
After duty hours will be the norm due to early flight departures and late flight arrivals.
Weekend and holiday work will be required.
Meets arriving and departing flights in which diplomatic couriers are transporting diplomatic pouches.
Accompanies pouches when they are being transported between the embassy and airport.
Maintains an inventory of pouches that are currently being held and prepares documents for their outbound dispatch.
Prepares all classified pouches for both dispatch and receipt.
This position is supervised by the DRDCH Diplomatic Courier.
This incumbent must be a U.S. citizen, and be eligible for a Top Secret security clearance.
There are no supervisory duties required for this position.

Qualifications and Evaluations
Requirements:
EXPERIENCE: One year of prior experience in an office, management, and or/security related position required.

Education Requirements:
High School Diploma is required.

Evaluations:
LANGUAGE: English Fluent Reading/Writing/Speaking is required. (This will be tested.)

Qualifications:
All applicants under consideration will be required to pass medical and security certifications.

IMPORTANT:
Applicants who claim status as a preference-eligible U.S.
Veteran must submit a copy of their most recent DD-214 (“Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty”), equivalent documentation, or certification.
A “certification” is any written document from the armed forces that certifies the service member is expected to be discharged or released from active duty service in the armed forces under honorable conditions within 120 days after the certification is submitted by the applicant. The certification letter should be on letterhead of the appropriate military branch of the service and contain
(1) the military service dates including the expected discharge or release date; and
(2) the character of service.
Acceptable documentation must be submitted in order for the preference to be given.

This level of preference applies to all Foreign Service employees on LWOP and CS with re-employment rights back to their agency or bureau.
